Issue background
Toward solving issues when transporting small lens shipping trays
Trays were being used to transport small lenses, but problems with contaminant mixing, scratches, and cracks during transportation were frequent, and we received a request from a customer for a solution to these issues. In addition, the current trays were often washed and used repeatedly, and the cost of cleaning had been highlighted as an issue.
Solution
Development of clean, strong trays making the most of multilayer film technology
To solve all these issues, we succeeded in developing a clean tray with a peel-off layer that also combines high strength and cleanliness by fully leveraging our co-extrusion multilayer inflation technology. The peel-off film on the tray eliminates the need for cleaning as the film is peeled off just before use, even if contamination is on the outside, thus solving the customer’s problem. We discovered a new way to use trays with this tray’s creation.
